GARRETT has recalled all of their Ball Bearing cartridges. No more HKS GT-series turbos, no more INCONs...... Supposedly, BB cartridges have proven unreliable and of a very short life span. Their main problem was very fast oil contamination and ball bearing sensitivity to contaminated oil. As you know there are no replacement service parts for BB turbos, and if the unit goes bad the only thing you can do is buy a new turbocharger - no rebuild option like with regular turbines. Also, GARRETT has been bought out, yet again. It's not Allied Signal anymo, now it's owned by GE. Reportedly, this is what prompted the recall.
